Chipolog Pop trackers

New Chipolo Tracker Works With Both iPhone And Android Networks

Chipolo has introduced a new tracking device called the Chipolo Pop, and it works on both Google and Apple’s tracker networks. This breaks through the inconvenience of having to worry about whether you have an iPhone or Android phone when shopping for an AirTag or similar devices.

The shape and size of the Chipolo Pop trackers is similar to Apple’s AirTags, except the Pop comes in multiple colours: red, yellow, green, blue, black and white. The Chipolo Pop trackers also come with pre-drilled holes and key rings that enable you to attach them to your keys. An AirTag can only be attached to a key ring if you purchase a key chain accessory for it.

The previous Chipolo trackers didn’t support both Google and Apple’s networks on the same device. You had to buy the iPhone only or Android only version of their trackers depending on the phone you have. Note that despite the fact that the Pop tracker can work with either iPhone or Android — you can only use it with one at a time. It can also work with either Chipolo’s app, or Apple/Google’s tracker apps.

The mildly water resistant pop tracker has an IP55 rating, so it should not be submerged in water. However, rain isn’t an issue for it. The battery life is one year, dependent on usage. This is similar to that of AirTags.

  1. I wonder what the battery life will be like and I wonder if the service will be free like the Apple Air Tags.
