Gemini AI Puts People Of Colour In Nazi Uniforms

Google’s Gemini AI chatbot (formerly Bard) was asked to generate pictures of German soldiers in 1943 (which was during the reign of the Nazi party). It generated images of people of colour wearing Nazi-era uniforms.

Gemini also refused to generate images of people of a specific ethnicity when asked to generate images of white couples.

The company has been struggling with past artificial intelligence (AI) projects that generate inaccurate or offensive content for years, as have other major tech companies. They have been assembling teams to make tweaks and remove offensive content from AI products. However, AI chatbots have proven themselves to be most difficult to control.
