Empowering you to understand your world

You Can Now Edit WhatsApp Messages

You can now edit a message in WhatsApp 15 minutes after sending it. The feature is welcomed by many due to the fact that you can correct typographic errors or rewrite your messages to provide additional context.

The feature, which is in the process of being rolled out globally can be used by long-pressing on the message you want to edit and then tap ‘edit’ in the resulting menu. After your message has been edited, it will be marked as ‘edited’ so that the recipient is aware of the change.

Marking edited messages helps to preserve accountability if someone edits a message for unscrupulous reasons, for example: if they’re lying about something they said.

The new WhatsApp message editing feature is expected to become available worldwide in the coming weeeks.
