Dell has announced new portable monitors, including but not limited to a 14″ FHD IPS display with a 16:9 aspect ratio (meaning it is a typical wide, but good screen aspect ratio found in most laptop and desktop monitors). The monitor can pair with your laptop or desktop computer and is only 4.95mm thick. That thin profile and a reasonably light weight of 1.3 pounds makes it a good candidate for travelling if you’re a power user that uses multiple monitors and does heavy multitasking. It also comes at the right time due to the large number of people working from home. The 16:9 aspect ratio is also excellent for editing spreadsheets and watching movies (it’s balanced).
The monitor is equipped with a USB-C connector and a tilt stand enabling it to tilt it between 10 degrees and 90 degrees. The portability of it means it may end up rivaling higher-end tablets such as the 12.9 inch iPad Pro or the large $1,000+ Surface models by bringing a desktop’s processing power to a portable screen at a lower cost. The new portable monitors will be available for as little as $350.
