A woman in Northern California was clearing out some of the belongings of her husband, which recently died and came across a rare gem: 1 of only 200 Apple 1 computers. She did what most people would do with such outdated technology — she disposed of it. Staff at the recycling facility she turned it into noticed that it was very valuable, and sold it to a private collector for $200,000.
The recycling company — Clean Bay Area has been trying to locate the woman to give her $100,000 for helping them out so much financially. Unfortunately, she didn’t leave her phone number.Nicholas Brown has written for LDA, CleanTechnica, Gas2, the Texas Instruments blog, and Green Building Elements.
